Apple brings an AI assistant to Pages, Keynote and Numbers
On October 27, 2026, Apple announced an AI assistant for Pages, Keynote and Numbers. It arrives in November as a beta in the Apple Creator Studio subscription – in US English only for now.

What the assistant does
The assistant understands the content of the open document and works inside it:
- Pages: draft, restructure and fine-tune text.
- Keynote: design, animate and refine slides.
- Numbers: calculate, organize data, suggest chart types and build custom tables.
Apple says it's built on Apple's own models and OpenAI.
New for AI agents: MCP
On the Mac (macOS 27 or later), all three apps support the Model Context Protocol (MCP). That lets external AI agents and tools read content, make edits and automate actions. Apple hasn't yet detailed which agents can use it.
Requirements and price
- An Apple Intelligence-capable device running iOS 27, iPadOS 27 or macOS 27
- Language: US English only for now
- Apple Creator Studio subscription: $12.99 per month or $129 per year in the US, with a one-month free trial
- Launch: App Store update in November 2026, free for existing subscribers
What this means for you
- If you work on a Mac or iPad, AI comes straight into the apps you already use – no detour through a chat window.
- It's US English only at launch, so outside the US it's a preview of what's coming rather than a reason to subscribe today.
- MCP support is the bigger step: it makes office files editable by AI agents – a trend that will reach Microsoft and Google users too.

Luigi's take
I see this less as a revolution than as AI becoming normal: it's moving to where the work already happens – documents, slides and spreadsheets. That's good for professionals, because the barrier gets lower. You don't learn a new tool, you get help in the one you already use.
My advice: don't wait for your language or your platform to start. The real skill is telling an AI clearly what you want – which table, which message, which slide. If you practise that today with ChatGPT, Claude or a specialised tool, you'll get value from every new assistant from day one.
